Despite
what The Hunger Games say, the odds never really are in your favor. That being
said, who cares? Who cares if it’s a million to one odds that you get what you
set out to do. I fully believe that with the right people surrounding you, you
can never fail at life or your dreams. Almost everything in life is a long-shot
because you can’t control anything. So do what you want to do. Believe that it’ll
happen. And know that it won’t be how you pictured it, because you can’t even
imagine how absolutely perfect it really will turn out.

T-Rextacular
"Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative
people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t
really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while.
That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize
new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more
experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other
people."

The perfect Chicago day
Yesterday John and I went to the city to get our Field Museum and the Shedd
Aquarium on. It was such a beautiful day to be outside and walking around in
the ever-wonderful Chicago. We pretended to be dinosaurs and learned a lot
about evolution at the Field Museum. We saw a replica of Sue’s head (not to
scale), went into the pyramid/mummy exhibit (kind of lame), and then went to
THE GIFT SHOP! It was like the whole trip was for the gift shop. We got a
dinosaur poster, a pasta server rightly named Pastasaurous and two dinosaurs made of
stone. They’re pretty awesome. I was having my triceratops bounce around my
legs the whole ride home; John didn’t even notice but that's probably because we were
listening to Jimmy Buffet.
Then we
walked over to Adler to get our stars on but they were filming American Idol or
something there so it was closed. We got free passes to come back AND we saw a
Monk just chilling on the waterfront. He was on a smartphone so I’m not sure
what level Monk he was. Maybe it’s the equivalent to me being a yoga person
because I wear yoga pants when I can’t find any clean jeans to wear. There were
all these super buff and intimidating looking bodyguards protecting the
soon-to-be American Idol contestants. I didn’t realize that show was still on.
I stopped watching after Season Two when Clay lost.
So we went
to the Shedd Aquarium and were debating on if we wanted to pay extra to see
sharks and stuff. We paid extra. We got to see dolphins and belugas and otters
(which were otter-ly cute—see what I did there?). We snuck into the Jellies
exhibit where I finally got to see JELLY FISH up close! Those things are super
freaky and so incredibly awesome and weird. They have no blood or brains or
nervous system. They’re just, like, there; which makes them creepier in my
opinion. The sharks were seriously cool. John was making my heart melt with trying to get a good picture of them. They were moving way too fast. He loves sharks so much it makes me kind of obsessed with them too now. I'm so jittery to finally go shark diving!
Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the
water. Our shark.
We
headed over to the lakefront and sat and were all cute and adorable. My hair was all
over the place and annoying but the view was incredible. Sitting there was
probably the most peaceful thing I’ve experienced. After we laid in the grass and just watched the water, we went to Bacci’s
pizza and ate the BIGGEST PIECE OF PIZZA I have ever witnessed. It was amazing
and delicious and I gained 4 pounds eating it. Then blah blah blah, I had rehearsal
for improv and then out for drinks afterwards. Overall, it seriously was the perfect day.

Picture Time! Picture Time!
Here are
the people that inspire me. (Yes I am in one of the pictures, but whatever).
Thank you to everyone who has made an impact in my life thus far. You should be
really proud of yourself. Go eat some food or buy me a present or both. I'm not here to run your life. I'm just here to be inspired by it.
