Day 23: Have a book-turned-movie deal

The books are always better than the movie. That’s a fact I will not dispute [but you could make your case for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2]. But there’s something about seeing the characters come to life that is magical. Even if they totally botch the story or down play its excellence [Someone like you/That summer aka How to Deal starring Mandy Moore] I’m still going to watch the screen adaptation for it. Call me crazy but I like seeing other people’s visualization of the characters and plot.

Day 22: A typewriter

I love modern technology and computers that save your work automatically [here looking at you Google Docs]. But there is something so romantic and rustic about waking up, getting a cup of hot chocolate and sitting down at your typewriter to write. Maybe it’s the sound of the keys. Maybe it’s the fact that back in the olden days, that’s all they had to get down a story.

Whenever I find a typewriter in a store, I always type one sentence and hope someone else continues the story. Or it inspires someone. Or someone just reads it.

Day 21: To meet Jim Carrey, Brendon Urie and Tina Fey

I could explain but I won’t. You know why. They’re all awesome and all creative role models for my ever growing mind.

Day 20: To see Louis CK perform live

Louis came to Grand Valley when I was in school there but I couldn’t go to see him because I had a night class. Sure I could have skipped the class for one night, but I had a test I couldn’t miss. It’s something I always feel a twinge of regret about. No matter. One day I will see him live and then follow his car back to his hotel and demand a picture with him. I’ve got all the time in the world Louis. All. The. Time. In. The. World. To. Wait.

Day 19: See the sunset [or sunrise] at the Grand Canyon

Just seems like one of the moments you need to experience to actually understand what life is supposed to be.
