Running the Rock ‘n Roll Chicago half
marathon in July was one of the best highlights of my life. I’m a pretty good
self-motivator so it wasn’t hard to keep myself chipping away at my training
schedule. I hold myself to a high standard so missing a run was never an
option. Even with an injury two weeks before the race, I was determined to
cross that finish line.
Little did I know that training and running
for that race was the start of something beautiful. Running gives me confidence
I didn’t even know existed. Knowing my limits and pushing them a bit further
every day gets me super jacked. The only downside to the training and marathon
was how lonely it got. I don’t mind doing things by myself, but a running
partner would have been super fabulous. [I just used super twice in a mere few
sentences. Ugh.]
